Dare to Be Different

Dare to Be Different

While riding along I saw a palm tree

In the midst of a cluster of so many species;
It struck me as odd that a tree so different
Dared to stand taller with so little effort
And right then and there I learned a great lesson,
It is Ok to be different, an odd sort of person!

So I looked at my life with its myriad passions
And made it all right to follow the fashions
I’ve loved all my life but have often wondered,
If others viewed me as odd, so I have pondered.
I’ve decided God made me this way for a purpose
And it’s my life to live and I’m doing it right, I suppose?

It hasn’t been easy being so oddball and scattered
But I’ve done many things that often have mattered.
I have tried to be fair and consider all others
And shared what I’ve had without many bothers.
As I continue onward on this wonderful path
I have tried not to garner too much of God’s wrath.

So I dared to be different and a bit unconventional
But have tried not to cause hurt, at least not intentional
And I have studied and practiced and tried many pathways;
I have served and I’ve sewed and I have painted and always
Given my best to serve God, my Master, and care for the ones
He gives me to serve, and tried through it all to have lots of fun!
